My thoughts on life, design, and simplicity.

My Favorite Quotes On Running

There are many reasons why we run. Some enjoy its health benefits, others its stress-relieving properties, and many others simply love running. For me, I feel like I was born to run. It’s always been something I’ve enjoyed since childhood and is an activity I want to do as long as I physically can. As most fitness exercises focus on certain parts of the body, running is a total mind & body experience. So to honor this ancient practice, I’ve created a list of some of my favorite quotes on running.

I hope you enjoy, and remember stay light, have fun and run free!

- Noel Carroll

“I run because long after my footprints fade away, maybe I will have inspired a few to reject the easy path, hit the trails, put one foot in front of the other, and come to the same conclusion I did: I run because it always takes me where I want to go.”

- Dean Karnazes

“My feeling is that any day I am too busy to run is a day that I am too busy.”

“There’s a great empowerment that I get from running, not only from the endorphins . . . Being a runner, to me, has made being depressed impossible. If ever I’m going through something emotional and just go outside for a run, you can rest assured that I’ll come back with clarity and empowerment.”

- Alanis Morissette

“If you have a body, you are an athlete.”

- Bill Bowerman

“It was being a runner that mattered, not how fast or how far I could run. The joy was in the act of running and in the journey, not in the destination.”

- Ronald Rook

“Perhaps all our troubles - all the violence, obesity, illness, depression, and greed we can't overcome - began when we stopped living as Running People. Deny your nature, and it will erupt in some other, uglier way.”

- Christopher McDougall ~ Born to Run
